Valve body and solenoid service -the valve body is cleaned, pressure tested and solenoids are tested and replaced where required

Clutch pack and seal replacement -all clutch packs, seals, gaskets and wear items are replaced with new components

Bearing and bushing renewal -all bearings and bushings are inspected and replaced as needed
7.
Reassembly to OEM specification -the transmission is rebuilt to manufacturer tolerances using calibrated tooling

Fresh transmission fluid -full fluid change with the correct fluid specification for your vehicle

Refitting and road testing -the overhauled transmission is refitted and road tested to verify performance before handover

What is the difference between a transmission service and a transmission overhaul?
A transmission service typically involves draining and replacing the transmission fluid, and sometimes cleaning the filter. It is routine maintenance. A transmission overhaul involves the complete removal, disassembly, inspection and rebuilding of the gearbox -replacing all worn components. An overhaul is required when the transmission has developed internal faults that servicing cannot resolve.
How do I know if I need an overhaul or just a fluid change?
If your transmission is shifting normally and showing no fault symptoms, a fluid change may be all that is needed. If you are experiencing slipping, rough shifts, limp mode, warning lights or unusual noises, these are signs of internal fault that require a full assessment. Which automatic transmission types do you overhaul?

What is the valve body and does it get serviced during an overhaul?
The valve body is the hydraulic control unit inside the transmission that directs fluid pressure to engage each gear. During an overhaul, the valve body is removed, cleaned, and pressure tested. Solenoids are tested and replaced where required. In some transmissions, the valve body forms part of the mechatronic unit -if this needs remanufacturing, we will advise you separately.
Is transmission fluid replacement included in the overhaul?
Yes. Every JPower automatic transmission overhaul includes a full fluid change using the correct transmission fluid specification for your vehicle. We do not reuse old fluid.
Why should I choose an official ZF Service Partner for my transmission overhaul?
ZF automatic transmissions -found in BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, Volkswagen Group and many other vehicles -require brand-specific diagnostic tools, proprietary software and ZF-certified calibration procedures.
